Jackie Robinson Steals Home

Jackie Robinson Steals Home
by Peter Manos

JACKIE ROBINSON STEALS HOME chronicles the life story and achievements of Jackie Robinson, who, in 1947, became the first African-American athlete to break the color barrier in Major League baseball. Mr. Robinson faced the obstacle of racism every step of the way. His ability to avoid conflict and simply perform to the best of his ability, despite struggling with an instinct to fight back, provided an example for everyone of how one can rise above negative circumstances with grace and humility. Other characters in the play portray those important people — Black and White — who were allies in Mr. Robinson’s journey: his mother, Rachel (his wife), Branch Rickey, Leo Durocher, Pee Wee Reese, among others. (Length: 55 minutes)

Available to tour to schools and other venues (Grades 6 and up): February 5 – March 5, 2024

FEE: $750
2nd show (same day, same venue): $650, 3rd show: $550
