This past summer The WordPlayers had an opportunity to share an afternoon with the children of Tracy’s Learning Center. Through the art of theatre these kids had the chance to laugh and learn what it means to be nice to others, respect all people, and love God with all their heart, soul, and strength. Though we arrived at this event to teach and entertain these key holders of the Kingdom, they taught us what it means to be the hands and feet of our Savior. We entered as strangers but they welcomed us as guests with sweet hugs and great enthusiasm. They were eager to hear wisdom and ready to participate in the stories around them.

Perhaps we can be like these beautiful children and get involved with the stories happening around us. Invite a friend to See Rock City, hear the calling in Sleepers, Wake!, or open your eyes to the seasons life brings us in A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas. Though there are stage shows, The WordPlayers welcomes the opportunity to bring your stories to life through Playback Theatre and hear the shenanigans you’ve gotten yourself into and the surprising outcome of these stories.

The WordPlayers has much in store for the 2017-2018 season. How will you be involved? God is always at work and writing a great story. Don’t be afraid to jump in and participate!

“People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
